Fire danger rating

The current fire danger is currently set to High.

Extreme caution must be taken with all open flames. Small fires are permitted in most areas of Muskoka keeping in mind that no daytime burning is allowed. You must have adequate tools and water to extinguish the fire if the need arises and you must be with your fire at all times. Ensure any campfires are fully extinguished.

Consult with your local by-law department for outdoor burning regulations in your municipality.

The Muskoka Fire Chiefs wish to thank everyone for their continued support.

Alarm program requests

The Fire Department will replace and/or install Smoke or Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarms in your home at no cost if you qualify for the program.

Community event request

Request to visit a fire station or have firefighters visit your organization.

Applications to become a volunteer firefighter are now open year-round.

Request inspection, planning, and permit services.

Fire safety concern form

The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is mandated to respond to complaints about fire safety concerns.

Event organizers are obligated to ensure all vendors comply with special event requirements.
